People are waiting with bated breath for your forthcoming film Don. What's the movie all about?
I know that many people think that this is yet another remake version of Bollywood's Don, which is not true. It's a different story and has been very stylishly done.This action thriller is a story of power struggle between two dons, played by Kelly Dorjee and me. It's not a remake of The Godfather either.
After Sri Ramadasu, which was an epic film, are you looking for an image makeover with Don?
I don't want to confine myself to any particular image. When I can get bored doing similar kinds of stories, how can I expect my audience to accept me in the same kind of roles? Moreover, in Don even the action sequences, though not abundant in violence, are very tastefully done. I can't wait to see the reactions of the audience.

I'm a spontaneous actor. I don't believe in doing homework prior to the shoots. I just try to deliver my best. And, as an actor, I believe, you get better with every film.
Have you signed any other new film?
I'm considering many scripts. Probably that's what makes people think that I had signed some project. But, honestly, I haven't taken up any project so far. I'm looking forward to the release of Don.
You haven't taken up many Bollywood projects?
I'm glad that I've done few but good films in Bollywood. If I had done many Bollywood projects, I would have to shift my base to Mumbai, which I didn't want to do. I'm happy with Hyderabad. And, moreover, I'm treated like a king here. Why should I go to place where I won't get a similar treatment?
Shiva is still referred to as a masterpiece. Does it bother you when people attempt to do a remake of a well-crafted film?
Remakes of my films don't bother me. Many filmmakers have attempted to recreate the magic of The Godfather, but can anybody ever replace the original? And if they are doing a bad job of remaking old classics, I just want to say that 'everyone has a right to make fools of themselves. Who can stop them?'
Do controversies bother you? Does the constant encroachment on your personal life affect you?
After spending a lifetime here, I know that this is an inevitable part of my life. I'm a star and people do try to pry into my private life, which they shouldn't. But, it doesn't affect me anymore.
You have been linked up with Tabu. Do you want to comment on it?
Oh, ours is the oldest love story so far, generated by the media. It's been in the news for so long, and for no reason.
So, why don't you come up and clarify it?
I'm not the kind of person who prefers to clarify. And why should I? But, yes, my wife has clarified it with the media and that's all.
Your wife Amala is part of many social activities for the betterment of people's life. Are you, too, a part of it?
Amala has my full support –– financially and emotionally, in whatever she does. I'm so busy with my commitments right now that I don't have time to actively participate in any such work. But, after some time I'll definitely join my wife. I'm so proud of my wife's work. She is an absolutely fantastic woman.
